"I'm the decider! Bam! Bam!"

BushStupid_enerve.jpg
I dreamt the other night that the Supreme Court ruled on the insanity defense. It didn't work out in favor of people with mental illnesses. When I heard the news, I shrugged. "That was predictable," I said.

Then our illustrious president George W. put in his two cents on the issue: "I'm the decider, so I get to decide."

In dreams are reality.

The music is pure Beatles but the lyrics are apropos to today's news - "I'm the Decider (Koo-Koo-Ka-Choo)" at http://decider.cf.huffingtonpost.com/

I wish "The Decider" remembered the following from his speech of April 29, 2002: "Our country must make a commitment: "Americans with mental illness deserve our understanding, and they deserve excellent care. They deserve a health care system that treats their illness with the same urgency as a physical illness."

I was lying half asleep in bed when I heard the "decider" line on the news and, despite my grogginess, I snickered out loud.

Glad I'm not the only one.
